If you say it's because you could have got EoTN for cheaper or whatever, so you only paid more at the ingame store, then financially, assuming the BMP is a reasonable price it'll still be cheaper for them in the long run. Other than that, the only reason is that people don't want other people to have the weapons/don't think they deserve it or whatever and in all honesty that's just pathetic. I just don't see how it affects people to see other people enjoy the same content they've already played through/got.
A lot of people's argument seems to be: "you had your chance, you missed it, haha." Which really doesn't make sense, because it doesn't affect them adversely except if it meant they had to pay more for GWEN, which shouldn't be a problem if it's priced reasonably.
They could release it in conjunction with another thing, or re-open the same offer.
From anets view point there is no draw-back to releasing it, other than annoying some of the people who already have it, as they already have the content. It really is to good a money making opportunity for them to never open up another way for it imo.
|
Resonable would be $50. Would be a great revenue streams considering how many are complaining. Anet wins, the guys who bought online win and the ones that want it win. So, Anet, sell it for $50 and be done with it.

No one was stopping you from going to the in-game store and purchasing EotN. I mean, if you were able to sacrifice the $39.99 for the retail version, then I'm sure you could have sacrificed $39.99 at the in-game store too.

Oh yeah BTW we're making this bonus Mission Pack and we're going to let you have it if you spend 30 bucks in our store but shhhhh don't tell the other players." so everyone could have gotten it but chose not to. No one is witholding anything from anyone, well except now that the promotion is OVER. You had the same opportunity as me to get it so what stopped you? Did Arena Net check your ID at the store and see that you were on some sort of secret black list? No of course not. Stop acting like some disenfrachised oppressed minority. you had your chance get over it.

So you are all for having content that is privy to a select few? Why don't we just introduce monthly fees to GW then, that way, people who pay a higher premium can enjoy more and better quality content suited for them.
You obviously are ignorant of the reasons why many were unable to get the bonus pack. And I frankly do not wish to restate them its not worth the effort or time.
I seriously still fail to see why people against this are so vehemently verbose.

Agreed. If Anet can make some more money on the promotion, let them. If they can sell the content to people that want it at a good markup, let them. Anet is a business, let them make money.
With the demand for this, it could be a great revenue stream for Anet which is without a revenue stream until GW2 comes out. Let them make money!

Difference between retail and online:
Retail: you have various methods of purchasing including, cash, cheque, debit card, credit card, bank transfer.
Online: you have only two methods debit, credit card.

Because you are wrong. this content was not offered to a "select few" it was offered to everyone that wanted it. Anyone could get it. you;'re trying to make it out like the privileged few were allowed a crack at this and to hell with the rest. That isn't so. No one payed a higher premium to enjoy it they just purchased content from the online store. I got EotN on one of my accounts to get the BMP. I was going to buy it anyway from a brick and mortar retailer but the promotion made me pick up my second copy in the online store. I've heard the many reasons why people were "unable" to get it and each and every one of them has been refuted on multiple occasions. There was no excuse as to why people couldn't get it if they really wanted it. you're grasping at straws and trying to play as if you were somehow discriminated against. You weren't you were just too lazy or too inept to do what was necessary to take part in the promotion.
Let me refute your reasons right now.
Live in europe on a pin system? the gave you Paysafe in the play NC store.
Don't have a debit or credit card? you can purchase a pre-paid one. Don't tell me you couldn't because I know you could have.
Any other reasons? I'll blow them out of the water too like all your other straw men.

And which of those two couldn't you do? Because, if you read the last 10 pages, Paypal offers a Mastercard, which was accepted.

No, $50 is not reasonable. And in any case, how does anet win by pricing it at $50? They will make far, far less money by selling it for that amount. So, they don't win because they will have just lost a lot of potential money. The ones that want it win in a sense, but being taken advantage of is hardly winning imo. So that leaves us with the people who already have it... and the fact that they win is kinda the point of this thread in case you haven't noticed.

Ok so you chose not to buy in the online store even though you had many options available to you to do so with. I get it now....what you mean to say is that you were full of fail?
and to people afraid to buy online....it's called SSL and looking for the https. SSL is an industry standard millions of people use it every single day and guess what no one gets robbed. Join the 21st century people otherwise you also fail. I'm not even bothering to construct cohesive arguments anymore because it doesn't seem to get through the thick skulls around here. Suffice it to say whiners are full of fail I'm full of win and win>fail.

Ok, for the last time.
retail price $50= $20 to store +$10 shipping & pakaging + $20 for NC-Soft
Online store $50= $50 for NC-Soft
Perhaps now you understand why they want to promote the online store.
Do NOT expect GW2 in stores I think they will only sell it ONLINE.

Assumptions are so good.
I mean simply because I sign with the petition that means I don't actually have the bonus pack; of course. I do enjoy the many personal attacks made by those with the bonus pack.
Seriously no one gets robbed? You obviously don't know about online fraud that goes around daily. Allow me to give you some figures;
"Yesterday, it was reported that online credit card fraud increased from £2 million to £7 million last year but - a mere trifle compared to the total credit card fruad total of £300 million. "
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/03...ne_fraud_rife/
Do have a read as you seem to be totally clueless.

I cba wth this thread anymore so the above quote sums it up for me. I just end up trying to say why those selfish BMP owners need to grow up, but it's not getting anywhere.

the point still stands people were given many options to obtain the pack and they chose not to. End of story. It's a case of non-buyer's remorse and Arena Net should not cater to it.

The people that got it as part of the promotion didn't pay for it directly. They got it with GWEN or slots. The people that want it, get it, but have to pay for it which generates $$ for anet on something they already created. It costs them nothing but boxes sets to sell next to GWEN during a lul in production. We win, Anet wins, the players that didn't get it win. And hopefully with the added revenue they can finish GW2 faster with more programers.
